How this is worked out
Each of the nine grahas is placed in a sign, and counted as a house from yours. Classical gochara says which of those placements help and which resist. The Moon carries the day because it changes sign every two and a quarter days; Saturn is background, because it has been saying the same thing for two years and cannot be why today differs from yesterday.
